Day 23: Prague

Today was our last day in Prague, so we planned a relaxed day of exploring Petřín Hill. The main attraction here is the Petřín Observation Tower, which is a miniature Eiffel Tower. It is a third of the size of the real thing. This is the highest viewpoint we've been to in Prague, and it was very interesting for us to pick out all the places we've visited this week!

Enjoying a playground on the way to the park

View from the top of the tower, showing the Prague Castle on the left and the Charles Bridge on the right, with Mala Strana in the middle

Here we are after making the climb to the top!
After the tower, we went to the Maze of Mirrors. Both this and the tower were built for the 1891 exhibition in Prague.

In the Maze of Mirrors
There was a room with different warped mirrors... which we found very entertaining.

The park is lined on one side by the Hunger Wall, which was part of the defensive system of Prague in the 14th century.

The last stop of the day was the Rose Garden, located near the Tower in the park.

While we were in the Rose Garden, it started to thunderstorm... the first rain we've seen in weeks!! So we headed back to our apartment, and just as we got there it started hailing large ice pellets. We had just enough time to pack our things and head to the bus station for our trip to Warsaw!
