Day 19 and 20: Madrid to Prague

We were unable to post our blog during our time in Prague because we had limited internet use... so here it all is now!

This morning we left Madrid for our long day of travel to Prague. While waiting at the Madrid airport, we witnessed some awesome baggage handling skills...

In the evening, we arrived at our rented apartment in Prague. It is the tiniest one yet, this is basically the whole thing.

We didn’t get to do much on the first day, but we did see this view of the city from our neighbourhood, as we were looking for dinner!

The next morning we started our tour of Prague. We took the tram to the other side of the city so that we could see the whole Old Town as we walked home. This is the Powder Tower, which used to be a part of the town’s fortifications – it was used to store gunpowder.

From the Powder Tower, we walked along the coronation route, to the Old Tower Square.

After looking around the square, we climbed up the tower on the Old Town Hall. The view was beautiful J

From the Old Town Square, we walked to the Charles Bridge. This is the most famous bridge in Prague. It is lined with statues of various religious figures.

On the other side of the bridge is the Lesser Town, Mala Strana. The main sight here is the St. Nicholas Church. By the time we got there, it was closed – but it is very beautiful from the outside!

On our way home, we came across a bike race. It looked very challenging, because there are many hills!

We then went out for dinner, and afterwards we continued our exploration of the city. This time we walked around the Castle District, which is closer to where our rented apartment is.
