Day 21: Prague

Today we went on a tour of the Hidden Gardens of Mala Strana. These gardens are right in the middle of the castle district, but hidden away away from view by towering walls in courtyards of 300 year old palaces.

We walked from garden to garden, crossing under the Charles Bridge with small canals and lock bridges along the way.

Lunch was a tall mug of beer and a goat cheese salad in a tiny cafe hidden in the trees beside the canal.

Then we kept walking on our garden tour, this time stopping in the Vrtba Garden laid out along a hill with a great view from the top.

A traditional dessert called trdelnik (a rolled pastry filled with chocolate or other delicious sauce).
Later that afternoon we visited the old Jewish district and toured the old synagogues and cemeteries.

On our way back to our apartment, we walked around the Prague Castle, surrounded by the forested Deer Moat.

For dinner we tried out a highly recommended vegan restaurant from our guidebook. The food was delicious and the view from the attic dining room was also fantastic.
